My Storksak Olivia by Zoe
An approaching beach holiday with an 11 month old baby meant I was looking for a changing bag which I would take me effortlessly from long haul flight to beach. I wasn’t keen on getting sand or suncream on the leather Storksak bag I already had – I wanted something just as stylish but maybe a little bit cheaper and perhaps with a wipe-clean finish so it could double as a handbag in the evening. My search led me back to trusted brand Storksak and the black nylon Olivia bag. (it also comes in grey, dark blue and moss green). Unlike some of the collection, this nylon bag doesn’t have a leather version. At £98 it’s a very affordable way to own a Storksak bag,
With its outer zip design feature (which hides roomy exterior pockets), the Olivia is edgier than the Elizabeth or the Sofia but still has classic styling that won’t date. It has an additional three exterior pockets and an amazing seven inside, keeping both baby and mum essentials neat and tidy. An insulated bottle jacket, padded changing mat and zip-up pouch are included. I bought the stroller clips too to keep the bag well clear of the sand – you can hang the bag to your buggy by the side rings to protect the straps.
It’s the perfect size for a holiday, with plenty of room for both ordinary and swim nappies, wipes, muslins, swimwear and a change of clothes. And I was glad I’d opted for a nylon finish as suncream and baby puree vanished completely after a day on the beach after a quick clean with a baby-wipe – leaving the Olivia smart and super-stylish for a family sundowner at the local beach bar.
On the negative side, I found the shoulder straps a little slippy so mainly used the webbed shoulder strap worn cross body. And I was a little disappointed that the stitching on the changing mat came undone after only a few weeks.
In summary, the Olivia works well as a secondary bag for holidays or perhaps for grandparents, childminder or nanny. It has served me well but won’t usurp my Elizabeth as changing bag of first choice!
