Tips for fussy eaters part 3
Thursday, 30 June 2016 | Admin
Welcome to another fussy toddler post...I hope you're not getting sick of these. This week I thought I would share with you some of Joey's favourite meals. Some of these aren't necessarily healthy and there's a common theme of pasta.
Spaghetti Bolognese - This is a meal that I can guarantee will clear his plate. I actually use a Slimming world recipe to make this instead of using the flavour sachets. Spag Bol is one of those dishes where you can just throw any vegetable in and it gets disguised by all the mince.
Spaghetti Carbonara - I don't make this as much as I would like but we had this last night for tea after not having it for ages and Joey finished the lot off. Because i have a bit of a disagreement with eggs I nornally use the Schwarts Carbonara sachet.
Spanish Omlette - I used to make this all the time but again because of my issue with eggs i don't tend to make anything with eggs anymore. The recipe i always stuck with was from the Annabel Karmel's Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner. You can throw anything into an omlette, peppers, sweetcorn, peas, tomato, mushrooms...you name it.
Breaded meat - I've started to notice that Joey isn't a fan of meat...the only meat he will eat is the kind that is covered in breadcrumbs. Tomato sauce pasta shapes/beans - I tend to buy the little tins of pasta shapes from Asda either the Peppa Pig or In The Night Garden ones. He loves getting his hands stuck in. I usually serve this when he has breaded meat Pasta - fusili pasta is his favourite, it's easy for him to pick up with his hands or a fork.
Pizza - Cheese & tomato is probably his most prefared pizza topping. He does now and again like the tuna & sweetcorn melts that I get from iceland.
Salmon & Watercress fish Cakes - I really do love salmon and these fish cakes from Aldi are bigger than your average fish Cake. Joey loves them and it's a great way for him to eat fish and Watercress without realising it.
Cheese - this boy is just like his mama and loves a bit of cheese. From Aldi I buy the mild cheddar sticks and i offer them as a snack or as part of his lunch. Has your toddler got a favourite meal? Head on over to www.thelifeandlovesoflolly.co.uk to find more meal ideas.
