Lauren and life with a Toddler

It's been a while since I've done a post for you about life with a toddler who's nearly 3. Life has been so busy with working full time and Joey being in nursery aswell. We haven't gone anywhere, it's just I haven't had time to write a post for my own blog in so long.

Joey is 3 in June, he has development delay and currently being assessed for ASD. He's been going to nursery full-time since January and theirs only been a slight improvement but then he's developed an issue by being around other kids. I wasn't expecting a sudden improvement in Joey but things have been difficult with him since he started and it's a bit disheartening. For a while now we have had our suspicions that Joey could possibly have a form of autism, he ticks the majority of the attributes of a toddler with autism. Doing normal family things is always so difficult for us, days out, meals, shopping, even just walking is difficult.

One major issue that has started is Joey's interaction with other children. When he starts playing with toys at nursery and another child wants to play with him, he starts to get aggressive which is so upsetting. Due to the amount of incidents he's caused he gets removed from the group and put on a thinking mat. We have had instances at home when he's started hitting or banging his head but we've always told him it's wrong. I feel so sad to think that my child is hurting someone else's child.

I'm hoping this month will be the start of Joey starting to receive some support from specialists while he is at nursery and actually have some form of a diagnosis so that we can move forward.

Does anyone else have a toddler with the same issues and being assessed for ASD??? I'd love to hear from you.
