Have you got a fussy eater?
If you have a fussy toddler like I do then you'll be fully versed in preparing lovely healthy meals for them to just turn your nose up at it. Joey is really bad at eating vegetables so I have to make sure they are undetectable but recently we've had a bit of a breakthrough.
I always try and prepare healthy meals for our little family but it seems apparent that my toddler has a phobia of anything that's healthy. When we first started weaning him on solid foods he ate tomatoes, peppers and strawberries etc but after he turned a year old he sort of went off course and just refused all of the above. The only fruit he'll eat at the moment are bananas. I have to come up with meals that try and hide vegetables like Spaghetti Bolognese, this is Joey's favourite meal.
Spaghetti Bolognese is a meal that encourages Joey to just get stuck and not bother about mess. The tinned tomatoes are one of the main ingredients in this dish and Joey doesn't notice, the same with onions. When i can, i always try and add extra veg into it such as diced carrots or peas.
A recent improvement with Joey is that he has started to eat those breaded vegetable fingers. I bought a packet ages ago and he sussed straightaway that they were veg. I’ve since offered them again at tea time recently and he eats every single bit.
So if your toddler is picking rather picky with food then give it time. The more you keep offering the more likely they will then give in.
