Harlow's 6 month update

Another great blog from Vicki.....

How this baby is 6 months old is beyond me.

I cannot believe that I gave birth half a year ago!

Happy half a year birthday little one.

No longer is he is mewling new born content with feeding, sleeping and pooping but he now a proper little person with likes and wants. Mainly food he now eats more food than his brother I am sure of it.

He can now sit up on his own and is even trying to bum shuffle and stand up.

We are very close to crawling and he does get very annoyed that he cannot move around like he wants too.

With so much going on he also has severe separation anxiety not happy with settling for anyone, so much so we have had to defer his nursery place for now.

He is slowly getting used to my Nan and she has been taking him for an hour or so at a time, but if he knows I am in the house he will scream until I pick him up.

Unlike his brother he isn’t the best sleeper and now 6 months in I think we are feeling the effects!

I always find that the new born months are manageable you live on the adrenaline of just giving birth, the novelty of having this new little human and the overwhelming love you have for them. The tide slightly changes at around 4 months when colic, reflux, sleep regressions all rear their ugly heads and leave you feeling like you’ve been hit by a car.

The last couple of months for me have been hard, Harlow is called Limpet for a reason.  It can be quite suffocating and most days there is no let up.

Harlow now enjoys playing with toys or in his walker/ door bouncer for small (very small) periods of time so I can normally get a few things done if I literally do them at super-fast speed and ply him with baby biscuits.

The evolving bond between Elijah and Harlow is overy wrenchingly sweet, especially now he can enjoy playing with him but not at 6am when Fireman Sam is being blasted at me.

And me? I am slowly becoming more human and coming out of the fog slowly and surely.

I am trying to look forward to what the next month will bring.
