Chelle gives us advice on packing a hospital bag

It's fair to say that packing your hospital bag can be daunting. I mean there's a lot of things you need for yourself and baby!
First things first make a list for yourself like you would for a weekend away. Buy yourself a weekend sized bag such as the BabyMule or splash out on the Jem & Bea Jemima as you'll need it for all the little essentials. You'll want some comfy wear for the hospital that won't rub you either. The last thing you want post birth is your nether region or c section scar aggregated. Pick some lovely nursing pyjamas that feel nice and soft but also cover you up if there's a chill in the air. Don't forget a pair of flip flops. They're also great if your feet do swell post birth but trips around the ward or to the shower mean these are essential. A bag of scent free smellies. Again you won't want to irritate your skin so make sure you've got fragrance free. My newborns haven't liked it when my scent changes so it's good for them too! Back up chargers are essential for baby spamming family online and contacting people with your good news. Take plenty of maternity pads and a nice bottle for your water too (I recommend a bobble bottle that filters).
For baby pick up your change bag (check out the lovely Pink Lining or Pacapod range) and think about their first outfit and their coming home outfit too. Of course you'll need nappies but also for a two night stay you'll need at least 3 of everything and their first teddy and blanket on top! What did you find essential for your hospital stay?
