A support network with a young family is crucial

This weekend we went to visit some family and it made me realise what support network we've been lacking in a way.
Like a lot of people we know we have a limited amount of local support. We've got a few members of family scattered around locally and my husbands family all live in Hertfordshire.
I won't lie I've found parenting so hard. The jump from 1 to 2 wasn't so bad but now there are 3 and a small age gap between the two youngest. I'm also not getting any younger.
So we packed rucksacks galore (BabyMule and pink lining) to fit enough in for our family and headed to make a two night visit. Prepared for the worst on the train we were blessed with 3 content kids who obviously could feel our stress chipping away with every stage of the journey.
It was bliss. A weekend of not feeling like I'm going crazy. Having people on hand to help me with the children. I can't lie it felt like a mini break. And of course the kids had a brilliant time. Jedi loved having a garden to run around in, Fizz loved having us around and Beatlebum slept longer.
It was the most relaxed I've felt in weeks. And boy I needed it. Now I'm preparing for a spa break hopefully later this year with my little tribe of mum friends.
Do you have family around to help out?
